UNIDOS is Miami University’s largest Latinx and Hispanic student organization. It is composed of both international and domestic students dedicated to enhancing the Miami experience through the exploration of Latin and American cultures. The mission of Unidos is to create and promote the understanding and appreciation of diversity on campus through the celebration of Latinx and Hispanic culture. UNIDOS is able to become a family away from home, by becoming a support system that helps students through academics, professionalism, and social growth. UNIDOS meets bi-weekly every semester for an hour and every meeting is unique. Many of the executive board members bring in delicious food from their home country in order to share their culture with the rest of the members. In 2022, they were also able to host their first annual Noche de Gala event, which will be a formal night hosted by UNIDOS. Their mission is inclusivity and cultivating cultures and their slogan, “By Latinx, for everyone.” perfectly sums up their initiatives.
